About Us
Swift Music opened in September 2000 and has since become a major centre for pianos,
keyboards and organs, which are currently
enjoying a resurgence in popularity. We are a Christian company and offer special
rates for churches and Christian organisations.
Nick and Margaret Swift (ALCM) are both from the West Country. Nick had his
own business in the finance industry before becoming involved in
music retail, and Margaret had a career in the civil service before raising their
family of three children. Margaret has
played organ and keyboard for many years as a hobby which has developed into a teaching practice.
Nick is the chairman of Bristol Organ and Keyboard Society and president of both Weston
Super Mare and South Molton Organ Societies. Both Nick and Margaret belong to a number of
other societies which they attend regularly. They are joined by Mark Ireland who enjoys playing
both classical and theatre organ, and Ian House who plays the Roland Atelier organ and has recently
started playing concerts at organ clubs around the country.
The teaching practice has now expanded to include Mike Fackrell, a very accomplished musician
who has spent many years in both teaching and music production.
According to Nick, "We have always wanted to set up the kind of shop
that we would like to buy from, with the biggest possible
range all under one roof. I think we have achieved that dream at Swift Music"
