About UsSwift Music opened in September 2000 and has since become a major centre for pianos, keyboards and organs, which are currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity. We offer special rates for churches and Christian organisations. Nick and Margaret Swift are both from the West Country. Nick had his own business in the finance industry before becoming involved in music retail, and Margaret had a career in the civil service before raising their family of three children, now in their twenties. Margaret played organ and keyboard for many years as a hobby before taking her Teaching Diploma with London College Of Music and building up a music school at Swift Music. For the past several years she has been playing for ballroom and sequence dancing at a number of clubs in the West Country. Nick is the chairman of Bristol Organ and Keyboard Society and president of both Weston Super Mare and South Molton Organ Societies. Both Nick and Margaret belong to a number of other societies which they attend regularly. They are joined at Swift Music by Mark Ireland who enjoys playing both classical and theatre organ, and who now plays on the organ club concert circuit. The teaching practice has now expanded to include Mike Fackrell, a very accomplished musician who has spent many years as Musical Director aboard various cruise ships, working with well known celebrities. According to Nick, "We have always wanted to set up the kind of shop that we would like to buy from, with the biggest possible range all under one roof. I think we have achieved that dream at Swift Music" |
