The latest product from Hammond has arrived in the slim line, light weight shape of the SK1 and SK2. This pair of fabulous new organs have a set of switchable drawbars. Simulated Leslie speaker and an extra voice section. The extra voice section includes pianos, strings, brass and many other sounds fully controllable. This picture is the SK2, two manual version.

Tyros 4

Yamaha’s latest flagship keyboard , the Tyros 4 is proving to be a huge success, both for customers upgrading from Tyros 3 and others who are choosing Tyros for the first time.

The new vocal sounds are very realistic and are now included in some of the styles and multi pads, an absolute joy to play, as are the new superarticulation piano sounds which are now very expressive.

The organ section has been upgraded so that the nine panel sliders can be used to instantly adjust the flute footages on each of the three types of organ sound.

For singers there is a new Vocal Harmony feature, which can add up to three harmony vocalists in addition to your own voice, as well as pitch recognition and a ‘talking synthesiser’ effect.

The backing Styles have been completely upgraded with new drum kits for an even tighter sound than previously, and superarticulation sounds are now in the Styles.

All in all a fabulous keyboard for the discerning player.

Recycling

At Swift Music we are pleased to play our part under the WEEE regulations. We will safely dispose of waste electrical products without sending them to landfill. We offer a take back scheme on a like for like basis, ie we will dispose of your old keyboard when you buy a new keyboard. In order to take advantage of this scheme you need to return the old product to the store within 28 days of the new purchase. Where we are delivering the new instrument we will be pleased to take the old one away without cost.

Mill Rythe

STATEMENT FROM ANDREW NIX & TONY STACE OCTOBER 2010

It is with our deepest regret that we have to report that Tony Stace & Andrew Nix will not be hosting the Musical Magic events at Mill Rythe, Hayling Island, next year.

Recently the Holiday Village went into administration, but now has new owners and will continue trading.

The administrators, Begbies Traynor, have stated they are delighted to have found a new buyer (Away Resorts Ltd) for Mill Rythe and state “It is a fantastic result to have safeguarded the positions of the one thousand plus holiday makers that had outstanding bookings at Mill Rythe Holiday Village”.

The events at this venue have been in conjunction with Swift Music of Bristol. Nick and Margaret Swift along with Tony and Andrew have not only suffered financially with this situation but more importantly are all deeply concerned about all the wonderful guests that this may affect. Whilst this situation is beyond the control of this partnership, they will be happy to talk to anyone if they so wish.

Swift Music recently had a meeting with the new owners, who are undertaking a complete refurbishment of the camp over a period of time. The camp would not be ready for an event in February, hence the cancellation of our February weekend. The July event could have taken place but with a 30% increase in price and a promise of only a small percentage of the camp benefiting from refurbishment by the summer. We did not think that this was sufficient to justify such a price increase, so have reluctantly decided not to proceed with this event as well.

Anyone who has paid a deposit to Mill Rythe should write to Kate Lansley, Mill Rythe Holiday Resort, Havant Road, Hayling Island, Hampshire, PO11 0PB to claim a refund.

We are looking for another venue in the South of England where we can continue to offer value for money breaks with the ultimate in entertainment. Roland Launch Upright Digital Grand Piano

Roland have proudly launched the LX10, a new upright digital grand piano with a beautiful contemporary look. It has been described as a modern approach to a timeless classic

The LX-10’s polished ebony and satin-black hybrid finish complement each other beautifully. The look is strong and bold, yet the depth of the piano is just 45.3cm. The fallboard’s interior has a mirror finish that reflects the keyboard and moving fingers in the style of a grand piano, bringing a sense of visual enjoyment to your playing. DNC (Defined Nuance Control) is a great advancement in sound generation and performance control.By assigning special articulations, noises and nuances to a physical control or playing style,you can increase the realism of your sounds.By playing legato you can call up a different Sound, use after touch or the joystick to call in breath noise or harmonics.Or let the Pa automatically cycle between slightly different samples to add timbral variety to your playing.A set of new Sounds and Performances has been added, to make full use of the new DNC features and serve as an example to your own creativity. To help you, your child or student prepare for music exams, Associated Board piano exam pieces are now available as midi files for use with Roland digital pianos. These files are ideally used on the KR107 which we currently have in our sale, for just £2750, a saving of £750. MIDI files allow you to: Practice hands separately while the Roland digital piano plays the other part. Repeat and practise sections at your chosen speed. Listen to performances of your chosen pieces.
